It's Been Real, 2016!
/Happy New Year! Looking back, 2016 was a good year. I took some time to look back on some of the highlights and wanted to share them with you. Looking back makes me so excited to see what 2017 has in store. I'm hopeful for more travel, more living in the moment, more spontaneity and more love.
Here's what happened in 2016:
Kicked it off with a Spurs game in my hometown of San Antonio with my favorite guy and explored the city a bit.

Met and collaborated with some awesome Dallas bloggers turned friends.
Rekindled friendships and cherished them more than ever before.
Forced my husband to take pictures he didn't want to... both of him and me. haha

Made a career move!
Spent a lot of awesome weekends with my boys.
Hosted cocktail parties. Lots of them.

Celebrated my 27th with all of my favorite people.
Drank a lot of beer.
Went to LA to see the QUEEN at the Rose Bowl.
Survived year one of marriage!

The Faux Fancy turned ONE!
Took a 36 hour work trip to New Orleans and still mananged to fulfill every craving including beignets and chargrilled oysters.
I museum-ed.
Took a plane ride and road trip to west Texas and spent 4th of July weekend in Marfa.
Slept in a teepee.
Had a panic attack in Big Bend and hiked to Santa Elena Canyon.
Got an obligatory Prada Marfa photo.
Hosted a Black Girl Magic picnic that got rained out. But brought the party indoors.
Made a naked cake.
Visited my dad's hometown of Mansura, Louisiana for a family reunion and had a blast.

Got on more than a dozen planes.
Missed the wrath of Hurricane Matthew and visited Jamaica for the first time.
Co-hosted a closet swap party with my favorite blogger-boo, Blingaholic88.
I voted in my 3rd election.
Visited San Francisco and went to Alcatraz.
Took a solo mission to the painted ladies.
Visited Boston for the first time, but spent most of the time locked away in a convention center.
Went back to Atlanta to for my sweet Kamille's first birthday.
I'll just leave this right here.
Took a mini road tip to Waco to visit Magnolia Market.
Walked into the Louis Vuitton store on NYE and walked out with a new handbag in tow. That was really a bucket list item.
It's important to glance back to better appreciate what's ahead. I hope 2016 was good to you all (despite a few circumstances) and I pray that 2017 will be the most enriching year yet. Cheers, ya'll. And Happy New Year!
